Hello
Has anyone successfully got COM port redirection working using the net use command within XenApp 6?
We are piloting a XenApp 6 farm and COM port redirection works using the RDP client via selecting to redirect ports.
Connecting via ICA and the net use command returns the error:
System error 66 has occurred.
The network resource type is not correct.
Citrix Policies are set to allow COM port redirection. No other group policy settings are set.
Interestingly enough, if you use RDP and select port redirection via the client, the port is available. Then run net use com1: /d* and then *net use COm1: [tsclientcom1|file://tsclientcom1]: and it fails with the same error as ICA connection.
Therefore, the net use command fails under both RDP and ICA. Maybe the net use com1: syntax is not valid anymore under Windows Server 2008 R2?
Thanks.
Remote Desktop Services. (COM2) and choose Disable, log off of the server and then back on using Remote Desktop with Serial port redirection enabled. After completing the above please test to see if you are able use the client COM2 port from within your RDS session. Users connect into it using RDP from Windows 7 PCs. One user has a debit card PinPad that connects to one of the PCs via COM1 serial port. This PinPAD used to pass-through to the old terminal server, but the new server does not see it on any of its COM ports.
