Up for sale is a Meister Walter Monnig professional double french horn. This horn, I believe, was made in the 1960's, in East Germany, serial number 123. This one was just put on consignment here in the shop. The consignor wanted us to sell this one as is, and not have our shop do any work to it. The slides all move freely, as do the valves. There is definitely some wear and dents throughout the horn, but nothing that affects the way it plays. It will need a good cleaning and to have the valve section strings re-tied. It does play in its current condition and the valves are smooth. It will ship in a vintage hardshell case, that may, or may not, be the original one. It also comes with a Farkas Model french horn mouthpiece. Proceeds from the sale of this horn will go to TUCSON SUMMER MUSIC. Tucson Summer Music is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides free music education to children aged 5-13 from low-income families.

Seller:smarcot(455)100%, Location:Lismore, NSW, Ships to: Worldwide, Item:273596768647This is a vintage Albert System 4 ring wooden clarinet. I believe it to be in Bb (total length is 59.5 cm without mouth piece) The serial number is # 8906It is by Gebrueder Monnig of Markneukirchen in Germany. This clarinet was made in Germany (not West Germany) This means it dates from before the 1939/45 war.Gebrueder Monnig were well known then for their bassoons , oboes and clarinets. After the war they became part of East-Germany.After the fall of the Berlin wall, in 1989, they merged their business with Adler and now operate under the name MOENNIG-ADLER. still in Markneukirchen. This clarinet is quite beautiful. New pads and corks have been fitted. The wood is very tight -grain ebony. There are no cracks, no repairs and no deep scratches. The keys are not plated, they seem to be made of german silver (maillechort in French) All is in good working order. The mouthpiece is made of wood also. I gives the instrument a soft pleasant tone. The case looks old enough to be original ?Condition:Used, Condition:excellent condition for its age, Brand:Gebrueder Monnig, Type:soprano, Skill Level:Professional, Key:Bb, Non-Domestic Product:Yes, Modified Item:No

- The word Remember, the 100000 and the number below that would mark the movement as being made by Gebruder Resch. Adding the two numbers together, the full serial number would be 166,138. I couldn't be sure about the date, however. Possibly in the 1880's or 1890's. Here's an earlier thread with a bit about the Resch Remembers.
